Pros

I first talked to Tensley Consulting about 7 months ago. I was looking for new opportunities and was most interested in smaller companies and Tensley was a great fit for what I was looking for. I had heard good things about the company and its management and it was recommended by more that one person to check them out. While looking at current openings I found out that Tensley was a subcontractor to the prime contractor who had won the new contract in the area I was currently working. Tensley made me a outstanding offer salary wise along with their great benefit package. I accepted the offer and started working with them on a possible start date on the new contract. For a variety of reason it was decided I should remain with my current employer and work on finishing tasks on the former contract through the end of its period of performance at the end of the year. I had regular updates from Tensley during this 3 month period and they made me feel part of the company even though I had not officially begun. They invited me along with my wife to company functions during this time. I knew I had made the right decision and just had to wait to officially start. I began as an official Tensely employee in mid January 2016 and have been extremely happy with my decision. I feel I can talk to any of the company management (and have both before and after my start date) at anytime and that is a big improvement over the "big" company atmosphere I was used to. I recommend Tensley to anyone in the Intelligence Community and Defense Department career fields. Check out their long list of openings on tensleyconsulting.com and their great benefits package.

Pros

Portfolio is wide enough to be on a contract that you dont have to deal the management of Tensley.

Cons

Benefits are subpar, salary isnt near the experience you bring in, full vesting takes three years, management only appears when something is wrong and no other time, tight-lipped about any movements within Tensley or outside that deal with Tensley, and the amount of employee movement out of Tensley be it from Overhead Staff or from contracts is high.
