Great company, good opportunities, some unfortunate moves recently - Engineer Teradyne Employee Review

Pros

Great team dynamics, workforce is engaged with projects and goals. Room to grow and learn, if you put in effort. Fun environment for engineers,

Cons

Project cycles are long (multiple years) so it may take time to get the chance to do something new. And while environment and engineering culture are still good,...it used to be better. Less flexibility now, more project urgency with "shift left" (make the same quality product in less time and ideally the same or less money). Different engineering groups used to be able to work together/loan out members as needed. Now groups have been separatee a silowed. Management changed the profit sharing approach from a flat percentage (no $ cap) of the company profits shared out to the employees to a cryptic bonus tied to how well the company does vs peers with a $ limit (cryptic in that the measurement tool's calculation method is undisclosed). So, in theory, we could have a great financial year but could still get little-to-no bonus if our peers did better than us.
