Project management and higher-ups bypass the department managers and exert heavy direct influence over engineering discipline responsibilities to pressure staff to push work out. The same people are poor communicators and quite unfriendly and don't seem to be interested in listening to ideas and concerns or supporting staff. Instead they play games, pick favorites and undermine people and project team harmony by setting people against each other and sidelining those they don't like. Be aware of the tendency to underbid on projects which pleases nobody. When push comes to shove, this company seems to treat their staff as just lines on an accounting spreadsheet.
