Thales Academy is an extremely supportive environment for teachers. Teachers are trained to implement a solid curriculum and are provided with all of the necessary resources to be successful. Administration is supportive and staff are collaborative and helpful. Thales exudes a strong sense of community.

Cons

Thales Academy holds very high expectations for their teachers. Teachers are asked to be flexible and to embrace change. Feedback is always constructive and helpful; however, if you are not receptive to feedback, or resistant to change, Thales may not be the place for you.

Fairly competitive pay, year-round schedule gives you 4 three to four week breaks throughout the year. Students are generally well-behaved.

Cons

Poor communication from admin; seemingly random changes in school policy with no warning or explanation. Every year I saw teachers whose contracts were not renewed despite never having any disciplinary issues and consistently positive observations; admin will refuse to give any explanation or reasoning for the nonrenewal if asked. Frequent turnover of admin--there have been 5 different heads of school in the last 5 years.
