Pros
Quality is a priority for the agency. At Bair, they focus on recruiting quality staff and foster parents to ensure that quality services are being provided to children and families. You will find offices full of good people who have the heart and ability to serve children and families with integrity. Staff work together and understand the value of teamwork. Management understands the demands of the job and they care about the staff's wellbeing and will ensure that work/life balance is a priority. Management is flexible and understanding in regards to work/life balance. In my experience, upper management went above and beyond so many times to ensure that children were well taken care of in preparation for school, graduation, family vacations, medical equipment needs, adoption fees, field trip fees etc. Seeing children make progress and be a part of a loving and responsible family is also a pro.
Cons
The nature of the job can be challenging. Seeing children disrupt from biological families and foster families is difficult. Balancing work/life doesn't come easy and it takes time and effort to make it work. Some people need additional assistance to learn how to do it.
