Cons
The pay is just above -if not at- poverty level with almost no pay increase to look forward to for a commitment to the company unless you are promoted to a higher position. Field emplyees are required to use their own vehicle to travel anywhere between 2 - 150 miles in a day with only $.40 per mile reimbursement - not even enough to cover the regular maintenance, gas, and wear and tear on a vehicle in good condition. The job requires the flexibility to work from as early as 7am to as late as 9pm daily, as well as weekend hours in order to complete your requirements in a timely fashion. The balance between work and personal life is nonexistent if you do your job up to the standards that are expected of you AND care about the families you work with. The majority of the job is documenting your every conversation and move to ensure you have covered your own 'behind' to make it through the FOUR audits and reads per year and not get a citation for the company. Essencially - 60% paperwork, 25% traveling, 15% direct work with families...80% work, 20% personal life (with most of your personal time being spent thinking about how much work you have to do).
