Pros

None. Anything good about this company is vastly outweighed by the negatives so much so I do not feel any exist.

Cons

The Community Lighthouse has a downright terrible work culture, which has proven resistant to change. While the company claims to be receptive to criticism, even minor criticisms are met with a rather harsh response. While the company claims to have anonymous surveys as a means to gather feedback, there is no true anonymity in a company that is this small. They know who wrote what; they always know. They have extremely high turnover and would rather pretend that issues in the company do not exist. They will claim it is due to several other reasons that, at one point, they were a toxic place to work, but they are better now. However, the root issues were never addressed, and you quickly find that their idea of having once been toxic was people speaking up and wanting issues to be addressed, rather than keeping quiet. While the company boasts it is 'all one team,' different teams are often pitted against each other. The admin team will be told that they are not allowed to do certain things, while the clinical staff will be told to have admin staff do that exact thing for them. All while neither team gets the support they need. There are no real boundaries between teams in such a way that it's clear that the company wants the division so employees are more focused on issues between teams than those that upper management is causing. Upper management displays rather blatant favoritism and, perhaps even worse, makes it very clear which employees they do not like. Upper management is also a large problem within the company. HR takes sides and participates in the very gossip they should be shutting down. The CEO is overinvolved, so much so it gets in the way of people working, to which you will then be reprimanded for not working. There is a lack of support for all teams. Asking for help with out-of-control patients in the waiting room is met with telling you to deal with it yourself, no matter how extreme it may get. They claim patients are not allowed to mistreat staff, and you may hang up on anyone being rude to you. But in rare cases, when you must do so, you are reprimanded for doing so. Crisis callers go straight to the front desk. You are expected to put a message in a channel to find a clinician who is able to handle such situations to take over. However, they do not make sure one is always available, making it difficult to find the help needed for a crisis situation. Which leaves both the front desk and the person in need in a less-than-ideal situation.

Pros

Team culture across all programs is amazing and collaborative which transcends into the work and commitment we have for those we serve. Continued career development and opportunities for growth within the agency is the cherry on top. The sense of pride everyone has to be part of this team is undeniable. I love being part of such a caring company that has been a cornerstone of community for over 30 years. Looking forward to watching it grow into an additional location in Rio Rancho in the Fall to extend the access to services across the area.

Cons

I didn’t find them sooner.
