Pros

Flexibility in schedule; although monotonous work, variety of clientele; location (DC); can make up time or work as much as you’d like in a sense;

Cons

Office has low morale. Office “lead” although kind, is sadly incompetent, defensive, has poor boundaries, and has poor communication skills. A couple providers are extremely entitled and rude to claimants. One in particular leaves for hours at a time and has had to have her claimants seen by others or rescheduled which is very rude and not easy for the population we see. It’s hard taking time off unless you tell them months in advance. If you need a couple hours to go to a medical appointment they will tell you “no, your schedule is already confirmed that day.” Providers end up calling out for a full day to get personal things done since we don’t get honored for trying to merely ask for a couple hours. Office space is very crowded and sometimes overbooked with more providers than space.

We have made many efforts to improve our DC staffing, including adding new management which has been very successful.

Pros

*Caring and supportive environment for both the staff and the individuals we serve. *A workplace that values empathy, respect, and dedication toward our clients with disabilities. *Great teamwork and collaboration across TEAMS. *Opportunities for professional growth and learning. *Stability within the company, leadership values and stability within the company. Proud to celebrate 20 wonderful years with IMA! Grateful for the opportunities to grow, learn, and be part of a team that feels like family. Working with people with disabilities has been deeply rewarding - it's taught me patience, empathy, and the true meaning of teamwork. Here's to continued success and many more years of making a difference together.

Cons

At times, workloads can be demanding- but teamwork makes it manageable. In general, none that take away from the many positives of being part of The IMA Group.
