Pros
Great mission, history of working with all to achieve conservation outcomes. Good benefits, good pay in my department. Growth possible but expect it to be slow. Global reach. Some recent efforts to modernize viewpoints and workforce. People for the most part are best aspect of TNC. Some are also worst part. See the cons. I rated TNC as a place I'd recommend to a friend but that is weighted based on past experience and knowing there are places and programs that are still good places to work.
Cons
Ever widening gap between leadership and the rank and file. Good ol' boy culture of years past is now full-fledged superiority. Some top and senior-level leadership that definitely do not exhibit TNC's values. Lack of accountability that is applied equally. 10 years ago TNC was a much more enjoyable place to work where you could expect to be treated as an equal by most and have some reasonable growth potential if you were willing to be flexible and took ownership for delivering excellent work. Those in senior positions had some sense of humility. Not anymore.
