Pros

Flexible remote work opportunities, competitive benefits package, generous 401(k) match, and a genuinely meaningful mission that attracts passionate and talented people.

Cons

I experienced severe and pervasive systemic issues across multiple layers of leadership, management, and HR that enabled toxic leadership behaviors and created a degrading work environment. When I raised concerns about my manager’s conduct through the appropriate channels, the response from senior leadership and HR ranged from silence and apathy to inaction in the face of clear retaliation. One of the biggest concerns was the lack of meaningful protections against retaliation. They do not have an anti-retaliation policy and in practice retaliation appeared to be tolerated, with very low intervention compared with other organizations where I have worked. Employees who raise concerns should carefully consider whether they will receive adequate support. Although my direct experience with my manager was the most difficult workplace situation I have encountered in my career, what ultimately drove my decision to leave was the organization’s failure to adequately address those concerns. The lack of accountability and support from the people responsible for protecting employees was deeply disappointing.

Pros

Mission is awesome. Great work-life balance.

Cons

Prioritizes comfort over continuous improvement. Very bureaucratic and slow. Incredibly sensitive culture to a point of extremity--don't think you're in a safe space or that you can be open with any communication. Someone will be offended by your honesty and the backlash is yours to manage. They prefer people to just go with the flow even if it's painful, inefficient, etc.
