Pros

Great place to start and opportunities for advancement. Laid the foundation for my ability to be successful in an in-house situation. They provided opportunities for professional development

Cons

Pay to start out was low, but then again, starting out in PR is on the lower end. I did spend a lot of time doing administrative stuff, and I had hoped for more responsibility in terms of PR, but I did learn a lot about the back end of things.

Pros

Nice office, location, produced some quality work.

Cons

The perception this company created that they have integrity and the best of talent is quite untrue. They had some talented VPs while I was there, but others who were inept at managing clients and campaigns. Consequently the turnover of business was high. Staff turnover was extremely high even for an agency, with better than a 200% turnover rate. You'd just get to like working with someone and they'd vanish, having left in frustration or been fired, sometimes for no good reason.

Pros

Gained great experience in using the latest PR research tools. Improved my writing skills. Had the opportunity to work on some creative campaigns and on-site shoots.

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity to grow beyond the position. Lack of mentorship for more junior staff. Account Coordinators are also expected to cover receptionist duties a couple hours a week, so it leads you to think that Account Coordinators are not as crucial to the accounts.
