Pros

You'll make a least one life long friend. There's a Casual dress code. Full benefits, small 401k match. Free soup, salad, drinks, fruit, ice cream and coffee. Opportunity to transfer to other departments/jobs. Employee discount on Zappos.com and 6pm.com.

Cons

Two events have happened that brought down moral: 1. Amazon owns Zappos - piece by piece Zappos is losing great employees because of the time consuming/stressful Amazon integration projects. Most projects center around replacing Zappos systems with Amazon technology, the projects are always sold as great opportunities. But things never work out as promised. 2. Zappos headquarter's move from the suburbs of Henderson to old Downtown Las Vegas. Tony Hsieh came up with the idea to move the headquarters to Downtown Las Vegas. Since then every company event is downtown, talks about downtown or tries to force feed you into moving your whole life downtown. When you have a CEO that is solely focused on trying to sell you on moving buildings instead of figuring out company direction/strategy then you know the future cannot be good.

Pros

In the beginning of my time at the company, there were so many positives. I struggle to find a single one, now.

Cons

Everyone from old Zappos quit or was forced out and replaced by people who have clearly never had a job before, yet get paid way more than I do. Leadership is scarily terrible. I went to HR on leadership many times but they didn’t care and told me I was the problem for enjoying the “old Zappos”. I am not allowed to list specific names in my review or else “new Zappos” remove it, but do not join marketing for LACK of experienced, smart, and kind hearted leadership.
