Pros
- Generally lots of really smart people who are happy to help you grow technically. - Attempts to make sure employees are happy. - If you're on the right team, it can feel more like family than work. - Lots of opportunities to learn enterprise level software development and dig in to code base.
Cons
- Bureaucracy tends to take a small, lean project and over complicates it, which oftentimes leads to it never being completed. - Sometimes the core value of "embrace and drive change" is used as a trump card for having to deal with changes that don't feel completely thought out. - The perks that were raved about 2 years ago were a lot better for the employees than they are today. - Work/life balance is encouraged, but since the move downtown, there is sometimes a sense that "if you're not getting involved in downtown initiatives outside of work, you're not really on the inside". - Growth within the company doesn't feel like it's based on merit/performance as much as time and involvement in the downtown initiatives.
