Pros

Working with some passionate and fun people, easy to make friends- friendships, happy hrs. are still encouraged, fun perks and events on a regular basis, easy-going (aka NO) dress code, free snacks & drinks.

Cons

Zappos has great intentions but led quite poorly. First off, the brand identity and vision has been so muddled by all the media attention given to the whole Holocracy restructuring and severance offers where nearly 15% of the headquarters left. Morale has been pretty low ever since the "offer" came out and it seems like they are just trying to distract current employees with random events and perks that don't make up for the fact that the recent company hierarchy/structure, or lack thereof, only seems to promote favoritism and unhealthy competitive drives. It all feels like a big popularity contest at times instead of a professional work setting with any real promise of career advancement that translates in the "real" corporate world.

Pros

In the beginning of my time at the company, there were so many positives. I struggle to find a single one, now.

Cons

Everyone from old Zappos quit or was forced out and replaced by people who have clearly never had a job before, yet get paid way more than I do. Leadership is scarily terrible. I went to HR on leadership many times but they didn’t care and told me I was the problem for enjoying the “old Zappos”. I am not allowed to list specific names in my review or else “new Zappos” remove it, but do not join marketing for LACK of experienced, smart, and kind hearted leadership.
