Pros

I've met some wonderful people here.

Cons

As others have noted, Thrive is run by a CEO who is focused on optics rather than results, and her insistence that employees should find joy in their work comes from a misinformed place of privilege. Leadership doesn't give employees autonomy, so calendar surfing is standard from the leadership team. DEI is an absolute afterthought internally, which can be observed in the percentage of white employees versus BIPOC. The culture itself is one of toxic positivity, where tenured employees fawn and coo over mediocre product updates. Employees across departments are incredibly burned out and distrusted, and showing up as your authentic self gets you into trouble. The product itself is not innovative for the market and there is no data to back up the claims it prevents burnout, despite the importance of data in the wellness space.

Pros

Working at Thrive Global has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career. I’ve had the opportunity to work cross-functionally with smart, passionate teams who care deeply about both business performance and human well-being. There’s a strong focus on innovation, especially around using AI to democratize access to behavior change and expert-level coaching, which makes the work feel cutting-edge and meaningful. Thrive strikes a rare balance: we move fast and iterate constantly, but we also respect boundaries, recovery, and taking time to reset. That makes this a sustainable place to do ambitious work — a rarity in the startup and health tech worlds.

Cons

As with any fast-growing company, priorities shift quickly. This environment is best suited for self-starters who are energized by building things from the ground up and don’t need rigid structure to thrive.

Pros

Benefits are great, pay is above average

Cons

Absolute worst company I have every worked for. Nepotism is high, environment follows high-school politics. Instead of focusing on the product (which changes every 6 months) the focus is on the CEO and her needs as an individual. Micro-management to the Nth degree, they employ smart people and then wear them down with pettiness. Promotions are arbitrary and dependent on if your liked, not how well you perform.
