Pros

If you're the type of person who is willing to work for a company that fosters a culture that is the exact antithesis of what it claims to be focused on eliminating, then you will be handsomely compensated for it.

Cons

Firstly, I just want to note that I left Thrive of my own accord. This is not a review of a scorned previous employee. It being my decision actually puts me in a very minute subset of previous employees. The majority of others were let go with little or no prior warning - a regular occurrence. For the most part these were talented, hardworking, honest people. People who were passionate about the perceived mission of the company, but perhaps disagreed or raised concerns (in an appropriate manner) with top-down decisions made and were punished for that. It's bad enough that the company operates like this, however, it is so much worse when you take into account that these are all people hired by a company to help improve global employee well-being! The hypocrisy! Add to this that whenever these "changes" happen, they're rarely mentioned formally and instead tend to be discovered over time. Again, none of this brushing under the carpet does much to protect against escalating stress levels. Aside from this, every other day there seems to be an announcement of other changes, be that team switches, team name changes, company name changes, management changes, etc. It is rare that there is any well-considered reasoning for any of these. Even the most calm, healthy individual would grow weary of this. In 18 months at the company I lost count of how many times I sat through a presentation of the next "big bets" the company were taking, only for them to be scrapped soon later in favour of the next whim. Be under no illusion - this company is chasing the money, not the mission it publicly claims.

Pros

Working at Thrive Global has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career. I’ve had the opportunity to work cross-functionally with smart, passionate teams who care deeply about both business performance and human well-being. There’s a strong focus on innovation, especially around using AI to democratize access to behavior change and expert-level coaching, which makes the work feel cutting-edge and meaningful. Thrive strikes a rare balance: we move fast and iterate constantly, but we also respect boundaries, recovery, and taking time to reset. That makes this a sustainable place to do ambitious work — a rarity in the startup and health tech worlds.

Cons

As with any fast-growing company, priorities shift quickly. This environment is best suited for self-starters who are energized by building things from the ground up and don’t need rigid structure to thrive.

Pros

Benefits are great, pay is above average

Cons

Absolute worst company I have every worked for. Nepotism is high, environment follows high-school politics. Instead of focusing on the product (which changes every 6 months) the focus is on the CEO and her needs as an individual. Micro-management to the Nth degree, they employ smart people and then wear them down with pettiness. Promotions are arbitrary and dependent on if your liked, not how well you perform.
