Pros

They fully credential you, get you liability insurance, get clients for you, offer supervision, and have people behind the scenes to support you. You can choose to accept new clients or stop taking intakes when you are ready. Once you are acclimated, you pretty much feel like you are working in any private practice setting. EHR is easy to use. Clients are fairly diverse so you get to work with a range of needs and gain valuable experience. PTO and other benefits are offered which may not be available at other practices. People (co-workers) are friendly. Cozy office set-up. Flexibility with doing in-person or telehealth sessions. Lots to like.

Cons

Communication / responsiveness in-house sucks sometimes. The behind-the-scenes corporate structure feeds into this by giving admins WAY too much to do. If you email someone on a Monday morning, you may hear back that afternoon or you may hear back at 10 p.m. on Friday night. It's fee-for-service work even with the benefits, so you can take the day off whenever you want, but if you don't have the PTO for it you won't get paid.

Thanks so much for sharing this! We're glad to hear that you've had such a positive experience building your caseload and support from your supervisor. We're actively working to streamline the tools clinicians have to juggle day to day. If you have feedback to share, please pass it along to your RCD — we'd love to hear it. Thanks for being part of the Thriveworks team!

Pros

Being able to provide therapy that helps clients achieve goals and improved functioning; scheduling flexibility; remote and in-office; offers benefits, such as insurance and 401K.

Cons

Company has changed to a corporate focus with financial gain being emphasized; leave is insufficient for clinicians; fee for service pay that does not compensate for admin work; removed management; billing and support department issues.
