Pros

Easy to build a caseload quickly with plenty of referrals. It *should* be a plus to have a team of folks who handle client screening/scheduling and another team of folks handling billing, but see below in "cons" (which is pretty much what this company is).

Cons

The scheduling department makes tons of mistakes in terms of "matching" clients with clinicians who don't work with their presenting issue or take their insurance, have even had folks scheduled on a day when I wasn't working and had blocked the schedule. Billing? Please Google "Thriveworks lawsuit" and you will find plenty of examples of complaining about unethical billing practices with canned responses that mean nothing from admins. Clinicians are micromanaged about how they manage their schedules, and if you take any time off you get a warning note from HR about making your hours for the quarter to keep your benefits. They say they pay clinicians PTO but it would take most full time therapists a year to earn maybe a week off if that. When you identify problems and ask about solutions, you either get chastised for not being positive enough or given a BS "politician" sort of answer with no real solutions. The billing department is so messed up that you will lose a bunch of clients who can't afford to be randomly charged large amounts of money with no warning and no one in that department will return calls or emails to them. But then your manager will ask why you aren't retaining clients and make it your fault. Like I said at the beginning - bye, Felicia.

Thanks so much for sharing this! We're glad to hear that you've had such a positive experience building your caseload and support from your supervisor. We're actively working to streamline the tools clinicians have to juggle day to day. If you have feedback to share, please pass it along to your RCD — we'd love to hear it. Thanks for being part of the Thriveworks team!

Pros

Being able to provide therapy that helps clients achieve goals and improved functioning; scheduling flexibility; remote and in-office; offers benefits, such as insurance and 401K.

Cons

Company has changed to a corporate focus with financial gain being emphasized; leave is insufficient for clinicians; fee for service pay that does not compensate for admin work; removed management; billing and support department issues.
