Pros

The company has many great, talented, and dedicated employees. We appear to have a direction now for the first time in many years, although not as good as when Mary Swanson ran the company. Donato has come on board and is trying to turn the company around to "Being the Best". Bringing back bonuses are great (although not if it causes jobs)! Partners love working with us and it's due to the great employees we have and the relationships we have developed with them.

Cons

I want to believe in Donato and started to think he means what he says. Either Donato doesn't know what his middle management is doing, or he's smart like a fox and talks a good game. Employees in this company don't know where they stand. There are constant layoffs and everyone lives in fear thinking they are next. It feels like the company is cutting everything to appear even more profitable just so they can sell the company for more profits for stakeholders, not caring how it affects their employees. Divisions don't know what each other is doing and how they can help each other with our overall goals. I don't recommend applying for this company until there is more stability. The company thrives on changing to change, and not changing with a long term goal. Every year, directions, goals, and ideas change with no input from employees, just to find out later that we go back to the way it was before (which wasn't bad).

Tivity Health Response

Thank you for your feedback. I absolutely agree that we have talented and dedicated colleagues and leaders who are committed to making a difference and moving Tivity Health in the right direction. I regret that I didn’t have the opportunity to work with Mary Swanson directly, and based on what I hear, I can only imagine that she was an inspiring leader, as is our own leader, Donato. We recognize that transformation does require change, which can be both uncomfortable and frustrating, and that in times of change, clear communication is critical. The reality is that sometimes we won’t have all the answers figured out, and in an open, candid, and trusting culture—which I personally strive for—we should be able to share what we do know, and what we still don’t know, and ask our colleague to hang in there with us and help us to figure it out. This would also require that our colleagues trust enough to share their feedback, questions and concerns directly, so that they can be acknowledged and addressed. You make a great point about providing an organizational chart, and that is something our team is working on making easier for colleagues to access. We're also collaborating with our leaders to ensure alignment across the enterprise—and in essence, become easier to do business with internally. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns. –Bonnie Schirato, VP, Human Resources
