Pros

- There is an awesome project called BootCamp that helps newcomers step-by-step join in the project and understand the code base. - Toptal has a unique culture of knowledge sharing. If you have crazy ideas or interesting things want to share, just raise your voice! People are always eager to hear that. In addition, peer code review, pair programming, and feature demo are common day-to-day activities at Toptal though 100% of the team are working remotely, it's made by leveraging communication tools such as Zoom, ScreenHero, etc. We always stay connected! - Discretionary time off is another advantage when working at Toptal, as you can organize your time to be always productive and performant.

Cons

Working remotely with flexible time means that you need to manage yourself very well to get rid of feeling lonely and to always perform 100%.

Pros

Met some good dedicated employees and freelance workers.

Cons

Lack of any real industry solutions or capabilities since 100% of delivery services are freelance contractors. Model has been successful as providing staff augmentation to clients, but all intellectual capital and outcomes are owned by the clients or the freelancer. Toptal is simply a staffing platform broker who marks up the freelance talent. Great if you need a plumber, but not if you're planning to build a bathroom.
