Ship is sinking - Team Lead TotalMed Staffing Employee Review

Pros

Can make decent money if you have zero desire to be treated as anything other than a number by leadership. 99% of those higher than a team lead are just trying to save their own jobs as the ships taking water fast

Cons

Company was better before Covid. Although it still wasn’t great, mainly due to upper management being promoted based off who is the most fun to go drink with and zero actual leadership qualities are taken into consideration. MSSL should have never sold out to TM in 2019 and now TM was acquired by an investment firm because they’re in so much debt they couldn’t afford not to sell off. Now the investment firm is realizing how quick the ship is sinking and trying to make their money back by firing half the company within 12 months of being brought in. Of course no upper level management though, they’ll do and say anything to save their own skin rather than stick up for the people below them. Doesn’t matter how much you put into this company, they’ll fire you with zero severance pay and refuse to realize where the actual problems lie.

Pros

Flexibility, the people, a culture where people help each other, remote work with option to come into office (although you need to pay for parking to do so)

Cons

This used to be the most enjoyable and rewarding job. I had so, so much fun here. I cried when I left, because Stella has turned this into a dumpster fire. Constantly pinching pennies and costing themselves dollars. Cutting resources, telling recruiters and BDMs to do 3x more with less. Toxic culture once you get beyond your pod, especially if you need to deal with 90% of the folks in Payroll. COMPLETELY disengaged leadership who reads surveys, and then gives corporate lip-service to actual issues once a quarter. Pay is super uncompetitive now, and the company has shifted to marketing to recent high school/college grads. Tons of people have either left, or have been victims of the last 3 rounds of layoffs - another round may be on the way after the merger with TNAA. Culture was once incredibly fun, and now, it's a shell of it's former self. I miss the old TotalMed.
