Pros

The employees are great, and I get along with all of them pretty well, we're close-knit, almost like a family. Half of the Management team are competent and great to work with. When it's not in Season (Christmas), the job is ridiculously easy and practically stress free.

Cons

The Upper Management are, by and large, incompetent and demeaning towards a lot of the employees, and favorites are definitely played. Certain members of management will act very different when the store director isn't there. Pay is simply lousy, and raises are given annually, but amount to pennies and are laughable at best. The HUGE 10% discount is silly, and has so many restrictions that it might as well not exist. And everything is based on Metrics. (Batteries, BPP's, IC's...etc ad nauseum.) If you can't sell people extended warranties or batteries or high interest credit cards, you're abused verbally and harassed to no end. Be prepared to harass customers to the point of feeling awful about yourself. Meanwhile, while you're pretty much running the store, the management is nowhere to be found, hiding in the office, or taking hour long lunch breaks after being there for 2 hours at most. It's baffling how certain members have been with the company for so long. Certain supervisors have no issue with screaming at you in front of customers, which does nothing for morale, which is a four letter word in the house of Geoffrey. Christmas is absolutely brutal, and surrounded by great dread. The company has since become so disgustingly money-hungry that it has silly hours during the holiday months, seeing nothing wrong with depriving employees of seeing their families. Customers demand the world, and verbally abuse when it's not given to them. Open Thanksgiving? Check. 8PM closing on Christmas Eve? Check. Seasonal employees are given little or no screening, and therefore not qualified to work in a toy store, let alone function as human beings, which makes running the store quite the task. Summer hours are few and far between, maxing out at about 12 hours if you're part time, which you will be, as they NEVER hire for full time. Not recommended. At all.
