Pros
- You are mostly assigned work and left alone to finish them - Fully remote work - Cloud stack is surprisingly progressive, which makes it a great temporary stopping point for people looking to join FAANG
Cons
- Quite a large cultural disconnect between the US and Canadian team, the lack of diversity (both race and gender) in the US tech workforce (based in Indiana) is quite jarring. - Very clear lack of diversity, upper management (US head-office) feels like >90% white-bread, and top management is almost exclusively male and white. - No real invention culture, company organized 'hackathons' are mainly backlog feature work disguised as innovation - All decision making, including technology is very much top-down, it's the their way or the highway - Networking opportunities with good people/mentors here is quite low compared to Shopify, Amazon etc. - Pay was not bad but has not kept up with the market conditions
