Revolving door -constant fear of being fired.

Pros

The product is truly amazing and has the opportunity to change the auto remarketing industry. Use of Apple products for work is nice.

Cons

Constantly hiring and firing sales reps. On 3 occasions they have fired nearly the entire staff and hired all new people. It seems every time a new manager is brought in the team is fired. I would also question the ethics of their auction system and the company as it is rumored that company employees have fake accounts they use to artificially raise the bids at auction.

This is my first Glassdoor post, and probably one that’s overdue. Thank you – and all of the reviewers – for your positive and negative feedback. I never enjoy hearing the negatives, but it’s important and valuable when I do. There have been some issues with turnover and training, and we’re focused on addressing them. We need inspired employees to stay ahead of the curve and continue delivering cutting edge technology to our customers. In some cases, turnover was deliberate because managers and/or employees weren’t the right match for our entrepreneurial culture. In other cases, good talent decided to move on. So we’re actively deploying new management processes and training programs to better cultivate, invest in, and unleash the talents of our people. And I’m personally committed to making sure we follow-through. Regarding the rumours, let me be absolutely clear: there is zero room and zero tolerance for dishonesty at TradeRev. Honesty is paramount to our customer relationships and our success. We promote it, monitor for it closely, and ultimately depend on each employee to help maintain it across our company. So here’s my ask of you and any other current or former employee: if you see a problem or an opportunity to make us better, I want to hear about it. Have an idea? Send me an e-mail. Give me a call. Stop by my office. Glassdoor is a helpful forum, but I still believe an “open door” is the most powerful communication tool out there. Thanks again for your feedback. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t address your concerns earlier, but I wish you the best for a successful and fulfilling career.

Pros

The passion behind all the people who do the day to day work of keeping customers happy with a subpar product is admirable. The idea behind the product

Cons

When you are told of all the free food/snacks/drinks & "fun" atmosphere - it seems to be pushed down your throat to feel like it's the best place to work. But underneath all that, it is disorganized, loud & a money pit financially. Let's get real, if you strip all the "free perks" away, what are you left with (do we really need that many Cosco runs)? Convincing customers that the app is great & improvements are on the way? Listening to customer service reps put their mics on mute to blantaly bad mouth customers? Watching management struggle to get developers to understand/comprehend that something within the app is broken. Lack of respect among separate teams within the company (we treat "ADESA" or "KAR" like a dirty word..umm who has been bank rolling & finally bought TradeRev out?). Hearing everyone state that current issues are due to "growing pains" - nah, issues are due to a top down issue. Considering even when TradeRev was smaller, suggested improvements were basically scoffed at & deemed unnecessary. Accountability is part of the fhab Moto, & yet all I've ever seen is finger pointing & no one willing to admit to an error When you get to the bottom of it all, TradeRev is just another traditional brick & motor company trying to put on the makeup of a progressive forward moving tech startup. Notice how only positive reviews have any feedback from the company? Yeah, trust me they tend to ignore & pretend that any fault or failure exists.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and perspectives. Disrupting the way used cars are bought and sold is new territory – filled with excitement, challenge and sure, even a healthy dose of chaos. Some people thrive in this fast-paced, ever-changing environment. For others, it’s just not their cup of tea. Either way, TradeRev is proud of our customer obsessed approach and we’re committed to treating every current, former or prospective customer and employee with honesty, integrity and respect. Please reach out to your HR business partner and manager so we can learn more and incorporate constructive feedback.

Pros

The thought of joining something great. Work from home. A great direct manager - in a few cases - I am lucky. I hear horror stories of most of the others. If you desperately need a job then it is ok until you find a new one.

Cons

Leadership doesn’t have a clear message, you are left constantly wondering if you are doing the correct actions. Rollouts of new programs aren’t thought out and fraught with errors. App technology is antiquated. Compensation is atrocious and nothing like expected. Work expectations are unrealistic, expect you to work 6 days a week until 9 or 10 pm every night for little compensation. Not a sales job it is a sales/account management/ customer service/ car photoing/ accounting/ title clerk/ ISR trainer/ Arbitration expert/auctioneer/Adesa liaison - but your only paid for vehicle sales. I’m sure I have missed a few others. Compensation is way off across the board most reps are not able to earn commissions or struggling to hit half of goal. Management expects you to work weekends while they are boating with friends and families. A narcissistic management team that focuses on how awesome they are but not on goals to accomplish. Car allowance doesn’t cover the maintenance on your vehicle. I could go on and on but this covers enough to help.

At TradeRev we take all feedback from current and past employees very seriously. We assess every review individually and see them as a learning opportunity to improve the company. We’re always reviewing our compensation to ensure we’re competitive with the rest of the industry and will be following suit in regards to your review. In terms of culture, from the top down, we work hard to create an open and inclusive culture where our employees don’t just feel inspired to innovate, but also have fun. We may be currently meeting your expectations in that regard, but thank you for sharing your experience so we can work towards an even better TradeRev.
