Full remote is pretty rare these days

Cons

Some of the worst software I've ever seen, and no desire to improve it. Everything is constantly breaking, and development velocity is agonizingly slow because the technical foundation is so abysmal. Any suggestion to improve it is met with apathy or exasperation. You will not be a software developer here, because they don't do software development here. 30 years of incompetent design and disregard for mountains of tech debt have completely ossified any capacity for improvement. Each PR digs the hole deeper; features that ought to be simple require sprawling and arcane changes to the code. There is almost no test coverage. Still, management doesn't seem to care about these fundamental failures of engineering. I was genuinely embarrassed to work here. Not sure what regulatory idiosyncrasies are keeping these guys afloat, but anybody with access to the same auxiliary resources as Tradeweb could write better software in 6 months and devour their lunch.
