Pros

I have worked in 3 different "divisions" since I first started. The first division was horrible. The hours were horrible, there was mandatory overtime that had to be worked in 4 hour increments which resulted in 12 hour days. If you wanted to eat dinner between your regular shift and your 4 hour overtime shift you had to clock out, and the overtime shift did not start until you clocked back in. The 2 years I worked in this department I only received a 1% annual raise with no evaluation. At one point I was told that I would be required to work at least one 1pm-10pm shift per week (after I had been working 7am-4pm for a year and a half) when I explained that I was a single parent with a young child and I would have trouble making that work I was threatened with a demotion and a pay cut (at this point I was only making around $10 per hour). The entire experience was MISERABLE, but I needed a job and my family needed insurance so....Not long after that I had the opportunity to move to a different division where I was actually treated like a human being with a brain and feelings. I also received a substantial pay increase just by moving divisions. There was a lot of travel involved, and the compensation for so much time spent away from home was definitely lacking, but overall I found it to be a fun atmosphere where most coworkers were helpful and collaborative. I then moved divisions again because an opportunity presented itself for a non-travel position. I have only trivial complaints about my current position/department. My managers are great and my co-workers are great, and most days I really enjoy being here. There aren't many places that allow someone an opportunity to double their salary in 3 years. It would be AWESOME to make more money, but I'm not sure that leaving the security I have here is worth a few thousand $$$ more a year.

Cons

There is a serious problem with company wide communication and collaboration. It seems that each department is unwilling to work with other departments for the greater good. I wish there were more cross-training between departments, especially the departments that are closely related. And of course, the pay is not great.

Pros

This is a great place for beginners in the IT space.

Cons

I was a Network Admin II and was paid WELL BELOW the national average. My direct management tree was not forthcoming with teaching. Most of what I learned came from co-workers, or I had to research the answers on my own.
