Pros
Free parking, pretty good benefits, office pets and dog walking.
Cons
There is a new initiative to change Trupanion's culture. Our culture wasn’t that bad before. Senior leadership and our CEO have said if you feel like a certain person doesn't fit in here, feel free to tell them to leave. This creates a really hostile environment. Most departments are pretty "clicky" it’s hard for people who don’t seem to fit in with people in their department, or the company in general. Employee's wonder, if the right people doesn't like me, am I going to pulled "pulled by the ear, out to the parking lot" (a quote from our CEO, giving employees the power to tell people they don't like to leave). It makes coming to work feel kind of lonely and hostile, especially if you are a new employee. And good luck moving out of your dead end entry level position. I was sold on the idea when I interviewed that Trupanion promotes from within and there are clear growth paths. This is a flat out lie. There are no clear paths for growing and learning. Unless you are friends with the right people, or push the right people to help you.
