Great place to work, with the right mindset! - Account Manager Trupanion Employee Review

Pros

Overall, I would absolutely recommend Trupanion. The benefits are great; medical, dental and vision insurance through a major network as well as daycare that's free aside from taxes. For those who choose to bring their dog to work, we also employee several full-time dog walkers, so walks are free to you. The general culture is very accepting, particularly to the LGBTQA+ community, and I made what I now consider to be life-long friends within the first two months of working here. I will say, there's a concentrated focus on making hires with the right personality (positive, pet-focused, kind), particularly with how a hire will fit in with the team the open role is on. For Account Managers, the workflow is for the most part very manageable, averaging about 20-30 touchpoints per day with partnered hospitals.

Cons

If you're easily distracted, having so many dogs around could be a detriment to your workflow. For Account Managers, your job satisfaction can be largely based on "luck of the draw" for which outside sales representatives (called Territory Partners) you're paired with. The company grew very rapidly, which occasionally leaves some communication gaps.

Pros

Very good benefits, especially PTO / Great coworkers with shared "values" (outside of upper mgmt) / Remote Help pets every day

Cons

The co has become another typical corporate greed - no longer cares about customer or staff experience, only the bottom line. Charges premium prices for not so premium insurance, with progressive cut backs in coverage yet continuous policy increases in much too large of percentage (as an employee, I could never afford my own plan). They used to be fantastic, progressive and all-inclusive. Now they keep hide their true behaviors behind a cloak of "transparency" and have lost sight of their own values.
