      Great place to work! - Software Engineer II Trupanion Employee Review

      Pros

      Great people, great culture. Rapidly growing company. If code quality is important to you, this is a good place to be. if you like Azure and the MS stack, you'll be happy here. Plenty of legacy code but the company embraces change. It's a good time to get in and be a part of the evolution. Good WLB, (mostly) great benefits and WLB. Sabbatical every 5 years. Good PTO and earn one day a year- who can wait 5 years for more days off?

      Cons

      Not the most competitive salary but not the worst either. A single employee can't ask for better insurance coverage. (no premium) For a family, it's a fortune. No 401k matching.

      Pros

      Very good benefits, especially PTO / Great coworkers with shared "values" (outside of upper mgmt) / Remote Help pets every day

      Cons

      The co has become another typical corporate greed - no longer cares about customer or staff experience, only the bottom line. Charges premium prices for not so premium insurance, with progressive cut backs in coverage yet continuous policy increases in much too large of percentage (as an employee, I could never afford my own plan). They used to be fantastic, progressive and all-inclusive. Now they keep hide their true behaviors behind a cloak of "transparency" and have lost sight of their own values.
