Pros

The product and service that Trupanion delivers is too notch and the best in its industry. I’ve never worked for a company whose product literally brought tears of joy to its clients.

Cons

Trupanion is severely out of date when it comes to technology and most of the tools/applications used on a day to day basis feel jimmy rigged at best. I spent about 1/8 of every day manually copying and pasting notes into the various applications that we used because none/few of them were automated/synchronized. In terms of resources, it does not feel like management is there to actually help. Any time I asked a question, all they did was direct me to various article pages and very rarely even follow up to make sure the issue was resolved. Training isn’t much better either, which seemed very counter productive seeing as there were about 5 different trainers and none of them seemed to be all on the same page at all times.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Trupanion! It's feedback like this that can help us continuously improve and keep bringing joy to our members. We have been bringing more and more talented folks into the company to help our IT infrastructure and training programs effectively scale with us. Your mention about "culture fit" stands out to me, and not in a good way. Cultivating an inclusive environment where everyone feels that they belong is always a top priority for us. If you feel comfortable sharing more insight, please email me directly at Anna.Berentson@Trupanion.com so we could set up some time to chat.

Pros

Very good benefits, especially PTO / Great coworkers with shared "values" (outside of upper mgmt) / Remote Help pets every day

Cons

The co has become another typical corporate greed - no longer cares about customer or staff experience, only the bottom line. Charges premium prices for not so premium insurance, with progressive cut backs in coverage yet continuous policy increases in much too large of percentage (as an employee, I could never afford my own plan). They used to be fantastic, progressive and all-inclusive. Now they keep hide their true behaviors behind a cloak of "transparency" and have lost sight of their own values.
