Pros

Lunch and snacks provided Good location near BART & Muni Flexible work hours/days

Cons

The cons could go on and on, so I’m going to do my best to summarize this briefly. Let’s start with management/leadership. Like most businesses, the success (or lack thereof it in TrustedSite’s case) starts at the top. TrustedSite’s CEO is not only out of touch with the modern landscape for their customers/prospects/employees but also comes off as a narcissist who is completely opposed to any form of feedback or suggestion that could potentially help his fledgling business. He has made a point to promote employees who are quintessential “yes men” and are clearly terrified of second guessing any decision he makes. Those that he’s placed in positions of leadership are not only under qualified, but are also the only current employees with a tenure longer than 1 year. Now to the product. TrustedSite has 2 products which they sell - website certification (they refer to as trustmarks) and external vulnerability scanning. The CEO has explicitly told his employees during meetings that it’s a waste of time trying to sell scanning and that the “real money” is in selling the Trustmark. The reason for this is that there is a fixed price for scanning and clear cut ROI for that type of product. On the contrary, there is no method to measure the ROI of website certification and TrustedSite simply prices this service with the concept that these trustmark’s (or stickers) will boost an e-commerce sites conversions by 10%. They train their employees to pitch the product in this manner and hope that the businesses they are trying to sell into are incompetent enough to not A/B test the solution. When a company does decide to A/B test to justify the huge cost, they inevitably discover that it usually makes no difference whether they have the sticker or not (hence, little to no ROI). As soon as any company informs Trustedsite of the results of their test, the management has advised its salespeople to accuse the prospect/or company of running the test incorrectly. Calling this a shady business model is an understatement and really should be something that they’re embarrassed about. Both of these topics which I discussed are very high level responses. There are many other issues which I didn’t cover that are also troubling (so much so that it’s actually comical), but I simply don’t have enough time to go into all the detail. I strongly suggest not joining TrustedSite.

There are a some inaccuracies from this reviewer which are worth addressing. We sell Vulnerability Scanning Half of our revenue comes from Vulnerability Scanning. We recently hired a Director of Security Products as part of our investment in website security and are an Authorized Scanning Vendor for PCI. Of course our successful sales teams sell Vulnerability Scanning and Certification. We are investing in more website security products and are actively selling this to medium to large customers. Of course I've never told employees to not sell scanning. Certification ROI is Successfully Tested Weekly The certification service scans a website weekly for virus's, malicious code, broken links, broken images, slow loading pages. A certified site can display a series of Trustmarks which do help increase sales. We provide an A/B test that includes optimizing the service across mobile, tablet and desktop. We've provided these test for the last 5 years showing millions of dollars of increased sales. Team: We have a great team at TrustedSite with formal training for each new sales person and one on ones to provide feedback and help. We hold regular monthly and quarterly updates to keep the team up to date. Our products are constantly updated with new features and capabilities, we deploy new code on bi-monthly basis. Our new VP of Sales is raising the bar for sales personnel to be more knowledgeable about our products and sales process. If you’re passionate about sales and enjoy security products and websites, please consider TrustedSite. Tim Dowling CEO TrustedSite

Pros

-Amazing coworkers who are all down to earth, really fun and easy to talk too, no egos in the office. Really makes for a great work environment. -Manager running the team is great, very supportive, easy to talk to, honest and transparent -Full sales cycle so you get to make the sale after pitching the potential customer so you will get closing experience -Most customers you call have at least tried the product on a trial so they are usually warm calls and not ice cold cold calls -Great customer success experience because you have to deal with saving clients and turning a no into a yes, and getting customers to renew and strategizing on ways to prevent and proactively stay ahead of problems with current customers -location is pretty prime being only 2 blocks from Montgomery Bart Station -catered lunch everyday, the kitchen is full of snacks and goodies, beer on tap -Fun events at least once a month

Cons

-Typically start up problems, company can make lots of changes so you need to learn to adapt to the constantly changing product. This led to most of the bad reviews of a few employees being let go because they couldn't adapt to the changing culture and rather working to improve decided to keep doing business as usual.
