Pros

Having the option to work remotely.

Cons

Question asked what about the job did you like the LEAST .... Answer : "Absolutely Everything! There seems to be extreme disorganization and no guaranteed way to actually achieve your job remotely and assist customers efficiently but also accurately, with this the job became frustrating, unchallenging, and pointless. Growing within the company became undesirable!" Your told the position is a part time moonlighter position but if you advise that you have open availability they will give you full time hours but never discuss benefits for health, dental, etc. Then when bringing this to their attention they will then offer you part time hours and revise your schedule after already providing full time hours weeks in. Training lasts for about two days possibly three, the information provided during training will become truly less and less effective to really achieve your job as you'll be switched to a general customer service que without notice after 3 weeks of answering only sales and reservations calls. Once this happens you will began receiving all types of calls from customers inquiring about information your most likely unable to assist with or answer because your a remote agent physically not at the locations or because you are really only familiar with placing reservations as this is the only thing you'll be trained for besides also being able to accept storage payments . Also the locations NEVER seem to answer their phones so all customers calls are routed to this one que so you'll receive calls from customers inquiring about job applications, missing or lost items possibly left behind in rental equipment, billing questions (which you have absolutely no access to remotely) lots of angry calls from customers that have been unable to reach specific locations for days, weeks, possibly months. This job seems enjoyable in the beginning but it's very misleading and unchallenging you began to feel unproductive and as if your working to fluff consumers for ongoing business. As far as compensation it's not much but it's a job and reliable income for what it's worth your told you will be paid hourly and also receive a bonus/commission depending on how many reservations your able to place without the customer canceling within a 24 hour period but even this information turned out to be a bit deceiving and misleading. Appreciative of the opportunity disappointed in the companies disorganization and dishonesty.

Pros

Good for gaining quick customer service experience, and the customer-facing side of the job keeps you busy.

Cons

Zero Work-Life Balance: Your personal life is virtually non-existent here. Between working incredibly long hours without overtime pay and the constant pressure to be connected, you can never truly clock out. Unrealistic Availability Expectations: The owner (Joe) requires your personal phone number to be available to anyone, at any time. You are expected to answer work calls during your off-hours, completely erasing the boundary between work and home. Lack of Management Support: U-Haul focuses entirely on the customer at the absolute expense of the employee. Management routinely allows customers to curse at and verbally abuse frontline associates without ever stepping in or backing up their staff. Flawed Technology: The internal booking and rental systems crash on a weekly basis. This leaves associates stranded, forced to repeatedly apologize to frustrated customers because the tech simply doesn't work. Poor Communication: Corporate-level communication is completely dysfunctional, making it incredibly difficult to get answers or support when things go wrong on the floor.
