Pros
110 hours to be considered full time, somewhat decent benefit package (although they have decreased it to "compensate" for our "increase" in wages)
Cons
I am not sure how true or "real" these reviews are so I wanted to give my honest opinion as a current employer of EMP/Acute Care Solutions. Acute Solutions had recently bought out EMP due to EMP losing out on money. They needed to merge with another group in order to remain stable. Since the merge, the company has been TERRIBLE. I would say prior to Acute Solutions, EMP was somewhat decent due to their benefits package although their hourly rate was mediocre. Since the merge, EMP has cut our benefit package. Premiums for health cost has sky rocketed, there has been a decrease in CME ($2500 for APPs and $5000 for Physicians) and hours are currently being cut at sites. The worst part of Acute Care solutions is they are now micro-managing the medical directors which are then micro-managing the employees (physicians and APPs). They are sending daily stats on patient volume via e-mail/text, telling us that we need to work harder/faster, and making the directors cut our hours if volume is not there. It's an ER, which can blow up ANY TIME. We cannot truly predict the volume as some days are more than the other. What is happening is that they are making us either come in LATER (be on call) or will cut us off early in the shift. This is difficult as we already do not get much hours and having a family, I cannot keep cutting my hours. The president of the new company also makes me sick as I've seen his "e-mails" to my director all about making the money. Please please be aware of the new changes in this group. The group promises a "new vision" and an "excellent partnership" but all it is a money hungry CEO and micro managing physicians that do not care about their physicians or APPs. I do love the hospital that I work at but I absolutely hate this group. And no, after the "new changes" to the benefits, I am not making more per hour as the site-specific incentives are absolutely ridiculous to reach (and the directors will hound you daily to reach those numbers).
