Pros

Never had a opportunity to find out. Health insurer that does not understand health problems of agents, hmmm.

Cons

I joined up to work with this company and because of health, I was unable to start working for a full 7 months, which in that time I was also getting licensed. I was fortunate to get married in that time period, and I was going to bring my wife on board. I am writing this to inform others that a few things need to be clarified before you start. Initially I was told I could sell other products, P&C, etc., and the I was my own boss. I was also told that I would get at least a 100 leads a day to call on. Well guess what, neither was true. When I did in fact start to work full-time, and I was about to give notice to my other work, I was getting 3 leads a day, not a hundred as promised. Well when I told my Manager this he said get licensed in 5 other states, which I did, but in the process my wife became very ill, and I told my Manager that I would need 2 weeks to attend to her health, and please put things on hold for 2 weeks and I will get licensed in 5 others as she is recovering, well I did just that, I nursed her to health and licensed in the other states. Well I was given a termination letter, not exactly sure why, but to top it off, I was never once asked how my wife was doing. That is my experience. I did contact upper management about this, and I never received a response. My advice is, go in with your eyes open.

Thank you for your comments. Selling other products (ie: P&C, etc.) does not fit within our captive sales opportunity at USHEALTH Advisors. The captive nature of the USHEALTH Advisors sales opportunity is clearly addressed in the USHA Agent Agreement and other documentation that would have been signed during the agent contracting process. I understand that you may not like this answer, I am simply explaining the facts. Regarding your comments regarding leads, I was not a part of the conversation you reference, therefore I cannot speak to any discussion that may have taken place regarding lead quantities...I can only speak to our company policy regarding leads, which is again, addressed in the USHA Agent Agreement. I understand your wife's illness would take time away from this opportunity and It is my sincere hope that your wife has made a full recovery. As you can imagine, it would be very difficult for the corporate office to be aware of such instances, therefore we have no other visibility beyond our normal reporting processes to determine whether an agent is engaged in the business or not. Letters such as the one you received are a normal part of our business processes and are triggered by inactivity of the agent. Without a clear line of sight regarding the cause of inactivity (in your case, the health of your wife) it is difficult to step in and alter the processes. If you wish to discuss your concerns further, I am available via email at bill.shelton@ushadvisors.com or by telephone at 817-878-3823. In the meantime, please accept my very best wishes for a successful future.

Pros

As a former agent who started at US Health in 2014 and then advanced high enough to open a top 10 office with over 20 agents I feel I have a lot of valuable information to share with anyone considering a career here. First of all, before I explain why I am never going back, let me say that for new agents thinking about joining the industry, or seasoned agents WILLING TO LEARN, this is probably the best insurance opportunity in America. NO insurance company I have ever worked for prior or since pays as much in commission as USHA and NO insurance company has a product that is as innovative. Also, I'm not going to rehash what everyone else has already said, it is not a 9-5 job and if you are willing to put in the work it WILL pay off. All that being said, your success depends a LOT on your up-line. I am the 5th or 6th manager that has left this particular division. At some point, you would think the company would listen to the complaints from the other agents in this division. Sadly that has not been the case. I have had numerous former agents calling me crying about what the office has become, but unfortunately, they are fairly stuck. My advice for anyone considering a career is to ask for a report from the office, and look for yourself at how many people they have and how well they produce. The best managers have teams with consistent sales. Choose one of those, otherwise you WILL regret your time here. Choose the right office and this job WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Cons

Unless you are a great self-starter and at the top 1% of the game, you will fail unless you choose the right team.
