Pros
This is a great place to work at the ground level. You get to interact with awesome ground level staff and guests! They are what makes this place so amazing. Best job I ever had in this regard. You get a yearly pass and parking pass which is pretty cool. very flexible work schedule. get a workout and tan while working. no day is the same, always have to be on your best game on the water.
Cons
New management. The early 2020 management in the water department all left simultaneously before the new season... I wonder why. Apparently the new policy to be an "active" employee and utilize your season pass you have to work at least 3 shifts a month. If you're inactive (fired) you will not receive notification of this. Management doesn't realize some people have full time jobs and makes this a cumbersome commitment. They would constantly call you during the week to pick up shifts. When you would ask to take your friends on the water, they would make you work a half day before you can take them out. You can literally do every favor they ask, but when you ask them for a favor once, they still take advantage of you. On occasion you would get a call early in the morning to show up sooner, or have your shift cancelled as you're pulling into the facility. a few people were fired for 'social media activity' with no explanation. Unfortunately, NC allows people to be fired without a justifiable cause. Pay is pretty bad and low increment of raises even with large swings of responsibility. Dont come here for a career move. Come here for a fun summer job (maybe not anymore).
