Pros
If you love being outdoors, playing in the sun and spending most of the day on the water, this is where you go. You meet a lot of diverse people, and make lasting friendships. It's never dull out there. The schedule is super flexible, you can work as much or as little as you like, and if you're out there doing your job and stepping up they are more than happy to give you what you need, no employer is gonna give a lot of hours to someone who won't work for it. You can make connections through the center that you only dreamed of. It's physical exercise and for an hour each trip you're a raft guide, an entertainer, you get to talk and joke with people in a chill environment and get paid to do it. This job attracts all types, the good news is that for the most part the ones that last are there for the same reason you are, cause of the lifestyle. It's chill and exciting, comical, adventurous, fun loving, good natured people that come back year after year.
Cons
It's a job like any other when it comes to management, here there are several tiers of it and some you may not like all the time, some you love, some are just a typical boss. Either way when it comes down to it they pretty much have your back. It's an adventure center so yes sometimes you're gonna get awful customers, or ones who won't do anything out there or worse do the opposite of what you tell them to, and some people are just the rear end of a donkey. Deal with it. It's an hourly job so you get paid when you work and sometimes when there's not enough to do or the weather's bad you get cut early and that's a day of pay gone. Again deal with it, you should understand this going into it, they're a business, no matter how much they like you they're not gonna pay you to sit around and look pretty. If you're a chick you're gonna run into the occasional meat head coworker or customer that's upset he has to go with the girl cause now it won't be fun, but you shake that off, prove them wrong and don't take it personally, if you can't do that you shouldn't work here. It's boiling hot in July and august, cold in November, you have to be trained and pay for gear and yes it's expensive but then you should take care of it cause it will last a long time of you do, it takes work and effort, blah blah blah. Dude it's like any other job, there are always downsides of some kind, someone can always find something to complain about, but in this guides opinion the good totally out weighs the bad.
