Pros
Free lunch, equity which you can’t do much with until the company IPOs or sells, snacks, flexible time (if the manager allows it)
Cons
The layoffs could have been completely avoided if the CEO had a decent strategy from the start instead of hiring like mad and growing the company at an unstable rate. In recent times budgets and cuts had been brought in, such as the travel freeze (only trips to clients allowed), but let’s not forget those who have used the company and milked it for absolutely anything, such as flying out to places to which they don’t need to be there for, top of the range hotels, overpriced and unnecessary ‘team dinners’, equipment they don’t need, taking Ubers for personal sightseeing and the list goes on. It’s those people that need to be targeted but looks like they may have slipped the radar for this time. Those who have been left behind feel demotivated as there is no job security. Who knows how far away the next lay-off phase will be? Clearly UiPath does not appreciate all of the hard work put in by some of their best employees.
