Pros

The only Pro I can place here is the fact that the position pays $19.23 an hour.

Cons

Cons are are just like the word. If you have no morals or ethics this is the job for you. You call number after number to get supposedly Perspective Students on the phone to "Change a Life". Well, if changing a life is using mental manipulation techniques called "The Qualitative Approach" then I guess we changed a life but not for the better since if the "Student" enrolls and follows through with Student Finance they will be in debt for roughly 26k-30k. They claim that we DO NOT SELL education however having enrollment and student start goals sounds like sales to me. I've been in sales for 10+ years and this reminded me of the movie "The Boiler Room" should have been yelling "Reco" for every enrollment. They concern themselves ALL day with being compliant with verbiage used on the phone to ensure they don't get in trouble with DOE and CEI regulators. So if you happen to say something that is NOT ok the script provided to you by UMA you are FIRED!! Trainers are extremely vague to the what if questions and all they tell you is get back on the script and get them enrolled regardless the situation. Again, they don't care about the person on the phone. They say not for profit however as employee you are offered 75% off for you and your family that one Heck of a discount should be a pro right well just shows how extreme the pricing is the poor person signing up. Anyway, I can go on forever about what a sham this school is. If you don't care about people and only care about making almost $20 hour this is you job. If have morals and care for people and truly their future stay away.

The best interests of our students is central to our mission. Vigilance to compliance with regulators’ requirements serves that mission by making sure that we are providing prospective students with the right information about our programs to allow them to make an informed decision about whether to enroll here. Our diploma and associate degree programs have tuition rates that are competitive with similar programs and for those who qualify for financial aid and grants, their actual obligations are often far less. These programs prepare students for healthcare careers, and our placement team works tirelessly to help graduates find those careers. Every day our students make the decision to continue to pursue their education, often in the face of obstacles or other life commitments like work and family. We don’t think it is at all a stretch to say that we are helping them change their lives. We thank you for the candid feedback and wish you all the best with your next endeavors.

Pros

Overtime available, when need it

Cons

The work environment was highly scripted, making it difficult to build genuine rapport with prospective students. Employees were expected to follow approved scripts very closely, and even small deviations could be treated as compliance issues. At the same time, compliance expectations were not always clearly communicated, which created unnecessary stress. Management felt overly focused on micromanagement, contributing to a high-pressure work environment. During my time there, I also heard a prospective student comment on what they perceived as a lack of diversity within the organization, which stood out to me. Overall, I found the culture stressful and inflexible. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this employer to those looking for a supportive workplace with clear expectations and the flexibility to communicate authentically.
