Pros

UMA has an amazing work place environment. The company is growing rapidly, so there is a great sense that if you work hard you will be promoted. We work hard, but play hard as well. UMA offers team sports for anything you can think of (even Dragon boat races!). They celebrate their employees with award shows and there is always a pot luck going on! Overall, UMA is an amazing place to work.

Cons

The company is young so there are some growing pains to work through. PTO is not earned until after you are made a permanent emplyee (over 90 days).

Thanks for the great feedback. There is nothing like working for a company that has a great work environment and we appreciate the fact that you believe we have that at UMA. UMA is definitely a family and you mentioned a portion of that when you brought up team sports. We love to get together outside of work to play sports and relax. Thanks again for all of your feedback and thanks for helping make UMA great!

Pros

Overtime available, when need it

Cons

The work environment was highly scripted, making it difficult to build genuine rapport with prospective students. Employees were expected to follow approved scripts very closely, and even small deviations could be treated as compliance issues. At the same time, compliance expectations were not always clearly communicated, which created unnecessary stress. Management felt overly focused on micromanagement, contributing to a high-pressure work environment. During my time there, I also heard a prospective student comment on what they perceived as a lack of diversity within the organization, which stood out to me. Overall, I found the culture stressful and inflexible. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this employer to those looking for a supportive workplace with clear expectations and the flexibility to communicate authentically.
