Pros

Wonderful educational summit, students that want to work hard, good network connections. Good hardworking coworkers that work well in a team.

Cons

Barely raises, high insurance cost, limited hours/pay, bosses who dont know what they are doing and no qualifications to be in their positions, a good old boy system you have to know someone and come in from the outside to advance.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate the feedback about your employment experience and your dedication to teaching our students. I understand that you have concerns with some of your benefits as well as your opportunities for advancement. We do see this as an important aspect of your employment. Since you are still a current instructor we encourage you to speak with your manager, program director or your dean to discuss your concerns so that you may have an improved employment experience. Again, we thank you for your feedback and thank you for being an instructor at UMA to help train our students for careers in health care.

Pros

Overtime available, when need it

Cons

The work environment was highly scripted, making it difficult to build genuine rapport with prospective students. Employees were expected to follow approved scripts very closely, and even small deviations could be treated as compliance issues. At the same time, compliance expectations were not always clearly communicated, which created unnecessary stress. Management felt overly focused on micromanagement, contributing to a high-pressure work environment. During my time there, I also heard a prospective student comment on what they perceived as a lack of diversity within the organization, which stood out to me. Overall, I found the culture stressful and inflexible. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this employer to those looking for a supportive workplace with clear expectations and the flexibility to communicate authentically.
