Pros

To be honest, aside from 16 dollars an hour, it really isn't a lot of pros when you factor in that as a csa, you are apart of a swindle most of the times. There may be a few instances where your helping to "Change Lives". But mostly the career service is advisor is a used car salesman. Working for a buy here pay here. And the stupid huddles and goofy chants. Read below before this is removed.

Cons

Where do we begin? If you just so happen to get a job here keep this overview in mind. Out of a class of 30 by the 90 day point it will only be 10 of you left. With that being said, if you have major bills and a family this job may put you in harms way. Here is why. Your success is based on the region they choose for you. It's all about who they like or who referred you. More than likely you will be in places that are outside of major cities that rarely hire because there is little to no turn over at these jobs. The the graduates are from low income impoverished backgrounds that in most cases either can't interview well or have background issues. My point is Uma is a racket. At your expense mind you because it's only designed for a few to stay past the 90 days. Oh, how can I forget , they hire every month. You do the math. Now the conclusion, I'm surprised that there hasn't been a class action lawsuit. The floor is filled with the under tones of labor violations, discrimination and mental abuse. IF YOUR SMART DO NO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Helping soon-to-be graduates prepare for and find jobs within their field of study, before they have any relevant experience, is not an easy job. But that is the mission we sign up for when joining the Academy. And we do change lives for the better every day. But don't take my word for it, hear from 21,000 students and alumni on Facebook and watch their teary-eyed stories on YouTube; you'll easily conclude what we have - this IS a great mission. Here's my advice for you: focus on yourself and not others, as you cannot control which co-worker will work hard and which will not; you cannot control who will nail that rural job placement, and who will not. But you can work hard, you can work smart, and you can do great in this world. I hope you find a career that leads you down this rewarding path. Being positive is the first step to being successful.

Pros

Overtime available, when need it

Cons

The work environment was highly scripted, making it difficult to build genuine rapport with prospective students. Employees were expected to follow approved scripts very closely, and even small deviations could be treated as compliance issues. At the same time, compliance expectations were not always clearly communicated, which created unnecessary stress. Management felt overly focused on micromanagement, contributing to a high-pressure work environment. During my time there, I also heard a prospective student comment on what they perceived as a lack of diversity within the organization, which stood out to me. Overall, I found the culture stressful and inflexible. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this employer to those looking for a supportive workplace with clear expectations and the flexibility to communicate authentically.
