Pros
- Good discounts - Lockers for everyone - Leniency on some things. - Freedom with clothing, tattoos, etc. (early on but not anymore) - Great people (Some) - Easy to get promoted.
Cons
- Wants employees to act like the Japanese do, extra humility. (This is America, not Japan) - More is expected of you, while you are given less. ("The Japanese Way") - Management cheaps out on AC maintenance. (Vents are cleaned only every month while they're suppose to be cleaned every week. The store feels like an oven. Employees and customers have passed out due to the heat.) But as long as the manager's office is cooled, it's OK. - Since this is a Japanese company, the ethnocentric management style is not even tried to be kept as a secret. Any manager who's not Japanese is pretty much a stringed puppet to the expats. - Managers can be petty. But fortunately they are rotated every 6 months. - Performance reviews are not always accurate so raises are missed to the actual good employees. - dress code is now funeral-themed: ALL BLACK
