Pros

>Great co-workers, it is not often you will come to a place where you like 99.9% of your co-workers. Every place has to have that one person that everyone dislike, but other then that, everyone there is just great. Got along with everyone and the entire floor became a close knit family over the course I have worked there. -Since working here, there has only been 5 people from management that I actually loved. They were really nice and sweet and very laid back and understanding. Unfortunately 1 one of them is in California and the other one is no longer with the company. One of them is in cooperate and 2 of the mare on another floor.

Cons

>Management stinks and I mean it really stinks. They are very contridicting. They tell you not to do something and they do it in front of you. I led by example. If you try to reason with them, they will go and say, "Do you want to go home?" Yeah, that's how management handle things. Using their power over you. Can't even take them seriously when majority of the management are young. >Unprofessional, there is a lot of flirting going around. Majority of the management make inapproriate remarks, makes everyone feel uncomfortable. >Want a raise, get real. When you first go into the interview, they tell you how easy it is for you to move up company, but prepare to be disappointed. Favoritism, there can be someone who doesn't do anything at all and they will get a raise, if you stay there long enough, I can gurantee you that person will be a supervisor before you do. >I understand working in retail, you are going to have to smile, but get real. No one can smile 24/7. So let's say your smiling but you stop for one second where you're not smiling, management will remember that. >Unrealistic task, they expect you to close down a section in B-Rank in an hour and your section will have clothes scattered everywhere, clothes from other sections and hangers thrown on the floor and garbage. Get realistic. When you can close down a section in the time you give me then maybe I will work with the time you give me, but they can't even do it. >Managment has evaluation with you every 3 months, so they pratically observe you and see if you have the requirements for a raise, practically everyone who has gotten the raise don't even know the FR Way etc but they get a raise, and when you don't get a raise, they say, "you will have to learn the FR Way" etc. but if you do know it, they will say just because you have the points it does not mean you get the raise, so the evaluation totally contridicts them. >Unfair treatment, if you are a favorite, you can get away with anything. you have bad TNA (TIME AND ATTENDANCE) that's okay, management can make that disappear, but if they want to get rid of you, they will find anything even if its a speck of dust to use it against you. >If you are not a favorite, prepare to go hosting in the fitting room for the rest of your time at uniqlo >Want to leave on time, get real. Even if you try to leave early, management will find a way to blackmail you into staying >Management talks a lot behind their associates back and it would be on the floor where customers are. >Not understanding you don't live and breathe uniqlo, but they expect you to be that way. They don't understand its a job and you have a life. They can't even be understanding you have school and school is stressful and yet they expect you to work 2 days out of the week and weekends, ot herwise you can get fired for it. >Can't use your discounts online, while other places you can. >Schedules, you have the physically come in to check your schedule or if your lucky one of your coworkers can check for you. What year are we living in in which they cant' even email their employees their schedule. >Request time off is a joke, you request off and it gets approved, but you still get scheduled to work. you tell managment and they tell you find someone to cover your shift and if you can't they will take your name off. It is not myt responsibility to find someone to cover my shift when I did what I had to do on my part and request off two weeks ago. >Management talks to you like your a child, are you kidding me. >Raises, if you are a favorite you can jump from your raise for example 11 to 13 and take a test to become an advance associate. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Meanwhile you produce the same amount of work and you will either get acknowledged and get a raise or be overlooked. >if management has a bad day, they will take it out on you, steer clear >instead of having management they have associates to do a customer service checklist, basically its a checklist to see if you are doing what you are suppose too. >Management will have a talk with you on the floor where customers are, seriously, how professional >They blackmail you that if you do something [blank] you will get a correction for example talking on the floor. I understand we can't talk, but even a quick chat to say hi, that is now allowed. if they see you, and they see you again saying hi to someone else they will say that you talk a lot There is more, but I am too tired typing. But this is majority of what happens at uniqlo

Pros

You learn a lot of the business; scheduling and payroll, labor management, how to create a daily workflow to accomplish business objectives. You're provided with detailed insights into a store's operations- it's P&L statement, total inventory and how convert key data into actionable plans. Simply put, you are challenged and will learn a lot.

Cons

Company and store experience varies greatly by store location. Unfortunately, management favoritism results in certain individuals getting better treatment and greater access to professional opportunities. Additionally, Company HR is very tepid when addressing store issues pertaining to behaviors exhibited by store management towards associates. Scheduling can be very inflexible and unaccommodating.
