Pros

Good pay rate compared to other retail stores. You will learn to have great standards. Store is very clean.

Cons

-Closing shifts end at 12am, but we usually stay later. -All black dress code. It's a terrible feeling leaving work in the summer and wearing black all day. -Favoritism. Management usually pick a few associates that they like and only focus on helping them grow, and forget about the rest. -Expect to work long shifts if you want to get promoted here. Managers work 10-12 hour shifts sometimes. General Manager is usually here from 9am-9pm. -No 15 min breaks. You only get 1 hour unpaid break. -Very strict. You must learn many phrases, always have to smile, always in dress code, you can't lean on anything, you have to stand in straight lines, you must accept credit cards with two hands etc.

Pros

You learn a lot of the business; scheduling and payroll, labor management, how to create a daily workflow to accomplish business objectives. You're provided with detailed insights into a store's operations- it's P&L statement, total inventory and how convert key data into actionable plans. Simply put, you are challenged and will learn a lot.

Cons

Company and store experience varies greatly by store location. Unfortunately, management favoritism results in certain individuals getting better treatment and greater access to professional opportunities. Additionally, Company HR is very tepid when addressing store issues pertaining to behaviors exhibited by store management towards associates. Scheduling can be very inflexible and unaccommodating.
