Most of the bonding between associates comes from complaining about management. Managers clearly have no idea what they are doing and make work worse for everyone else. They are passive aggressive, micro managing liars that could not care less about you. I put so much into working at this company and got absolutely nothing in return from management, and they never show appreciation for you despite the whole “thank you card” culture that they are made to push on us by corporate. Also, you will do more work here compared to other retail jobs but make the same amount. They force you to smile and be fake to customers when they give you every reason not to smile. There is an extreme hyperfixation on customer service, despite many shoppers wanting to be left alone. Also, of our managers would regularly bully associates and cry like a baby to the other managers when anyone stood up to them.
