Worked for the company for several years. Over the last 4 or 5, the company shifted focus away from patient safety, employee satisfaction, and meeting physician needs to profit margins. Facilities are pressured constantly by Tenet upper-level management to meet unattainable financial goals-doing more surgeries while cutting drugs and medical and staffing costs. Budgets, expectations, and goals are set by people who have never worked in an ASC before. Staff are then forced to make the impossible decision-do they sacrifice patient safety and care to meet the budgets and line the pockets of executives they will never know? Ultimately, people choose to leave and find a more ethical, patient-centric company to work for. The company boasts about owning the largest amount of ASC in the country, but a majority of the ASC's purchased lacked due diligence and USPI did not and still does not supply them with resources they need to run successfully.
