For every smart, capable, hard working employee at Uptake, there is at least one incompetent one. I would like to draw attention specifically to the Product team . Much of the Product team has no technical knowledge and appear to have no desire to acquire said knowledge. There is a lot of blame being placed on other teams when deadlines are not met. There are so many bugs and UX issues in the production environment that it's frankly embarrassing. These issues are driving the most talented tech people (e.g. engineers, data scientists) away, and having two rounds of layoffs this year so far certainly didn't help, either. Hiring quickly in a short period of time may get Uptake a lot of media attention but indiscriminate growth clearly has devastating consequences.
