Poor Management, Little Strategic Discipline - Lead Uptake Employee Review

Pros

There is freedom to take initiative in conceptualizing products and go-to-market strategy in untapped business verticals, as well as how to commercialize said products, so long as you can verbalize it to the right people in the right way.

Cons

The company is far too bloated. Half of the company is occupied with building bureaucratic processes that only inhibit bringing money in the door. Also, there are too many people in decision-making or client-facing roles that have no technical expertise, and bring literally nothing to the table other than generalist consulting 'skills'. This environment is detrimental to the folks who actually have the skills to accomplish the company's goals.

Thanks for sharing your honest feedback. We’re glad to hear you felt you could take initiative at Uptake. Regarding your cons, our direction is more clear than it’s ever been with a defined product strategy and roadmap. This has been discussed in detail at company-wide meetings and will continue to be communicated in greater depth on an ongoing basis. Regarding staffing, we are currently redefining what roles mean at Uptake, from the CEO to every new position that is posted. We understand the importance of shifting our skill sets and capabilities to continue to ensure we have the right people in the right roles. We’re proud of the team we’ve built thus far.
