Pros

At one point this box would have been filled with "culture" pros. Great office, vibrant communities, welcoming corporate culture, endless perks, reasonable work hours and very generous pay. This attracted amazing talent, and the problem space is still interesting and challenging. Companies want something, they just don't know what it is. Success went from being inevitable, to probable, to possible in the span of 18 months. You'll be trading time for a paycheck.

Cons

It's not a real company (for some who speak if "the good times" this is actually the reason). There is absolutely no accountability or strategic leadership, executives are chosen on a whim and rotate positions every couple months which results in massive pivots and strategy changes out of left field. The last year of reviews go through this in detail. There is no domain expertise or desire to bring it in. Ruled entirely by politics and cult of personality - which has only accelerated as the company shed layers and is now ~15% the size it was at the peak. There is no lasting foundation or product to bring to market, nor leadership or patience to see it through. Between layoffs and talent flight there's a real question as to whether there's enough to rise from the ashes. If you're an engineer - you'll have no guidance or context, plan for your code to be thrown out in weeks or months. If you're in product, be ready to build vaporware to "sell the promise". If you're client facing, get ready to play technicalities to make good on contracts.
