Pros
++ There is great camaraderie among employees, including with some of the management team. ++ Utz is generally not a politically correct organization, which makes for a more relaxed & down to earth atmosphere. ++ You can count on feeling pretty safe in your role, as it is pretty hard to get fired at Utz (which can also be considered a con) ++ Weekly pay periods are awesome
Cons
-- Cliques do exist at Utz. They won't directly treat you like you're beneath them, but indirectly you will notice the difference. Whether it's lack of advancement opportunity, favoritism toward others, greater workload if you're not in the clique. This happens everywhere though. -- Socialist reward system? Management does not factor in productivity and contribution when dishing out annual salary increases. You could screw off for most of the year and get an average rate increase, or you could bust your butt all year and also get an average rate increase. There's really no incentive to stress and push yourself to work harder. Just do your job, do the bare minimum, show no initiative and you will get paid and fly under the radar. -- Excessive tolerance for lazy pointless employees. I won't elaborate on that. -- Senior leadership has a very strict philosophy: grow the sales side of the business, hire more senior managers, finance and sales employees, but under no circumstances will they grow the IT department that is in charge of making sure all the fancy technology runs smoothly.
